Contamination/Corrosion

Contamination and corrosion can cause any number of failures in electrical components.

Utilising techniques such as XPS, SIMS and SEM, contaminants can be identified and corroded components analysed.

Once contaminants are identified, suspect materials can be fingerprinted thus leading to the elimination of the contaminant and reduced failure of the component. Whilst understanding the reason for corrosion can lead to better protection of components.
